High School Marching Band vs. College Marching Band
Marching Band in both high school and college are both hard and creative, but the level of difficulty is based on the school athletic support, band and schoolwork and the difficulty of music and work ethic. Both are hard work and involve a lot of commitment, but they have their differences. They are technical, advanced and sometimes complicated.
Just like college, High school gets support from the athletics. It is ok, but not as much support as the college band gets. The athletics sometimes pay for the band to go places with them. They don’t always thank the band like they should. When it comes to the playoff games in high school, the athletics will ask the band to support them and help them show school spirit. High School marching band gets a little bit of support for their halftime show from the athletics, but not enough support like college. The athletics will ask the band to come to big away games and pay for the buses.
Both High school and College marching bands have schoolwork to do. Schoolwork is easier in high school than college. High school band and academics help you get ready for college band and academics. Schoolwork in high school is easier to maintain and to finish. Studying in high school is not as hard as college level and high school students have more time and flexibility to study and do homework anytime than college students. They are at school most of the time and their games are on Friday most of the time. They can do their work on the weekends with ease.
In high school, the level of music that high school marching bands play is medium level and it can be hard sometimes depending on the show music they are playing.
